Fashion Revolution - Who made my clothes? On April 24th 2013, the Rana Plaza building in Dhank, Bangladesh collapsed. It was the fourth largest industrial disaster in history and many lives were lost. Three years later, people from all over the world have joined forces and created a movement that’s turning fashion into a force for good. It was time for the industry to value the people who make the clothes, the environment, creativity and profit - The Fashion Revolution was born! Want to hear some crazy facts? The average British woman hoards £285’s of clothes that she will never wear. That’s £30billion of unworn clothes. Yup, that much. A years’ worth of the UK’s unwanted clothes could fill Wembley Stadium. Amazingly, 95% of all these discarded clothes can be recycled or upcycled. Guys, it’s time for a #haulternative - a really fun and refreshing way to update your wardrobe without buying new clothes. And we’ve got you covered. Goodstock by vInspired is a charity shop with a difference. It encourages young people to start thinking and buying sustainably. It smashes the myth that charity shops are full of old-fashioned, worn out clothes. Goodstock is full of fashion gems; you’ll find unique, customisable second-hand garments, as well as handmade jewellery (designed by our uber talented volunteers) and more.
